Installing Armstrong Laminate Floors
The most wonderful thing about Armstrong laminate flooring is that it is an interlocking floor that floats, which means that it can be installed on top of almost any type of subflooring or other type of flooring that you have. Its much easier than say learning how to hang drywall. The only thing that you will want to keep in mind is that the surface must be level, which would mean that carpeting or badly destroyed floors would need to be repair or removed. A vapor barrier is normally laid over the existing floor and the tongue and groove boards are then installed on top of the barrier, leaving it floating on the floor. If you are installing the laminate flooring in rooms that are moisture prone, including a bathroom or basement, you will want to seal the edges of the room with a floor sealant or caulking compound. You may also want to glue the tongue and groove joints to help prevent moisture from getting into the flooring and destroying it. Just these two extra steps can help the flooring to last much longer.
